Building a community of believers in Christ, in service to the world

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your service times?

Our Refresh (non-traditional) worship service is Sunday morning at 8:55. Our Rejoice (traditional) worship service is Sunday morning at 11:00.

Who is New Beginnings designed for?

We are designed for those who seek to know more about the effect of Jesus Christ on God’s world. If you are looking for something more in life, then we are for you.

How should I dress?

Be comfortable and respectful, but our dress tends to be more casual. Don’t get caught up in what you are wearing or what the person sitting next to you is wearing. We are just glad you are here to worship.

What are a few Methodist beliefs?

We are a Protestant Christian denomination with a practical way of going about things. We believe the traditional, basic Christian beliefs, such as that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, that God comes to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that the Bible is a gift from God that guides and inspires us. We believe that all people fall short of the glory of God, are in need of forgiveness, and that all stand in need of God’s grace. We believe that God is active in our lives and that being a Christian is a life-long growth process. 3

I've been baptized in another church. Would I need to be baptized in a Methodist Church?

If you were baptized in another Christian denomination, then we honor and celebrate that baptism. If you join New Beginnings, you would simply be transferring your ministry as a Christian from one church to another. Methodists do not believe that we are the ONLY way to Jesus Christ, and we work alongside – not against – other Christian churches.

Who can take communion at New Beginnings?

The Methodist Church opens the Lord's table to anyone who sincerely wishes to be forgiven of sin and be nourished by God’s grace. Also, we always use grape juice instead of wine, so that recovering alcoholics can feel safe in participating. By the way: Mr. Welch was a Methodist who wanted to be able to take communion without the alcohol, so he invented grape juice.

How do I join New Beginnings?
